By the end of the 18th century wardrobes usually consisted of a clothes press flanked by slightly recessed cupboards.
The of furniture in the 19th century, combined with growing affluence, which meant that people possessed more clothes, led to great importance being attached to the wardrobe as a piece of bedroom furniture.
The actual piece of furniture in which clothes were kept was originally known as a press, and at quite an early date its division into two parts—one for hanging garments, the other for laying them out flat—became established.
The worst part is at least one thin piece on the bottom of the front part is too long and did not align with the bottom itself. I got stuck in the assembly and the wardrobe is still sitting on the floor up to now. The parts were incorrect and we are not near an Ikea store to return the items. Had to drill into the pieces and it still won't work.
Most of our products are designed and packaged so that you can take them home yourself.
In addition to featuring quality materials such as solid hardwoods, hand-forged metals, and beveled glass, the real beauty of this furniture is that each piece is thoughtfully designed to take advantage of efficient new construction methods and affordable high-performance materials.
These include new composition leathers, microfiber fabrics, and most importantly, a new generation of high-resistance engineered woods and veneers that not only save you money but ultimately save natural resources as well.
